The State's Supplier Diversity program targets that at least 25% of the
state's business is transacted with small businesses including those
owned by minorities, women and the disabled. To participate, simply
register with the Department of Administrative Services. Once
certified, you can bid on contracts covered by the program as well as
all other state contracts.
Connecticut Small Business Development Center
The mission of SBDC is to promote and encourage the creation and growth
of small business, by providing sound business advice through free,
professional counseling, seminars, technical assistance and education
for business owners and entrepreneurs, in one-on-one or group training
environments, throughout Connecticut. The SBDC counsels and nutures
small businesses from their inception.

The Entrepreneurial Center
The Entrepreneurial Center serves both women and men, with a special
emphasis on women in business. Over 75% of our clients are women. Our
training and advising is focused on the learning styles, qualities and
particular needs that women bring to business. This program of The
Entrepreneurial Center is funded in part, through a cooperative
agreement with the US Small Business Administration.
The Women's Business Development Center of CT
The Women's Business Development Center (WBDC) is a 501 © 3
non-profit micro-enterprise development organization whose goal is to
increase economic independence for women. This is accomplished through
entrepreneurial education, small business training and promotion as
well as access to applicable resources and support.
