Alabama Small Business Development Center
Free business start-up advice, business training and counseling
services. The Alabama Small Business Development Center network is a
statewide,
inter-institutional program to enhance economic growth in Alabama by
providing management and technical assistance to small
businesses.
Certified business counselors are available in 12 Small Business
Development Centers (SBDC) located at our member university partners
across the state.
ASBDC members include SBDCs at Alabama A & M University, Alabama
State University, Auburn University, Jacksonville State University,
Troy University, University of Alabama, University of Alabama in
Huntsville, University of North Alabama, University of South Alabama,
and University of West Alabama
Alabama Minority Business Development Center
Business counseling and financial management help. The Alabama Minority
Business Opportunity Center (MBOC) is funded through a grant from the
Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) and operated by the South
Regions Minority Business Council (SRMBC), whose mission is to assist
corporations, universities and government agencies to develop business
opportunities with certified minority business enterprises (MBE). The
MBOC addresses issues and provides assistance to facilitate the success
and growth of certified MBEs.
Central Alabama Women's Business Center
Provides women with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to start
and grow a business. The Central Alabama Women's Business Center
provides a woman with the tools, knowledge, and resources needed to
start and grow her business. We inspire and empower women
entrepreneurs.
The CAWBC is a project of the Schlarb Foundation for Women
Entrepreneurs and serves a seven county area including:
Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, Blount, Walker, Talladega and
Tuscaloosa Counties. Funded in part by a Cooperative Agreement
with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
Women's Business Center of Northern Alabama
The mission of the Women's Business Center of North Alabama is to help
women and men start and grow a business and generate economic growth
for the region. This is accomplished by serving as the premier source
for information and access to resources; facilitating their
self-¬discovery and personal development; and providing a mentoring
process to support, nurture and advocate the development of their
business.
Our services include start-up assistance and nurturing, business
coaching and training, access to financing, the Government Procurement
Assistance Center, networking opportunities, referrals to other
resources, and a ready-made network of contacts
